G-Star - Anatomic Denim [2025]
The brief
For the launch of the G-Star Anatomic Denim campaign during CIFF Copenhagen, Longstoryshort® opproached us to create a film around the 3.5-metre sculpture of a Gorilla, which would feature during the CIFF Copenhagen and Amsterdam Fashion Week events around the Anatomy of Denim campaign.
The statue was built by Darwin, Sinke & Van Tongeren, crafted entirely from denim to showcase G-Star’s obsession with structure and form. Our task was to look beneath the surface and bring it to life in a cinematic way.
Our role
Working closely with Longstoryshort®, we were responsible for the full creative production. Translating the initial concept into a visual direction. Building the storyboard, styleframes and developing the animation. The challenge was to find emotion inside material, to make something sculpted feel raw and living on screen.
The Result
We crafted a cinematic film that reveals the gorilla’s inner anatomy. Showing how denim fibres build into muscle structures and eventually the awakening of the beating heart of the Gorilla. Collaborating with THNDR to develop the sound design for the film, in support of the cinematic and storytelling quality.
This film is about what lies beneath the surface: the beauty in how things are made. The textures were key. We didn’t want it to feel synthetic, it had to move like muscle, breathe like fabric.
